Andy has spent the whole of his working life in local authority pensions, initially in Cambridgeshire but, since the late 1980s in Lincoln.
Due to working arrangements with his current employer, he’s often journeying between Lincoln and Bradford, but still spending the vast majority of his time in Lincoln.
Outside of work, Andy enjoys a range of sporting activities. At the moment orienteering and running events are his main passion. Having gained a place in the London Marathon, he completed the 2017 event in just over 6 hours. He is now focusing on local half marathon, 10k races and Parkruns. He regards taking part in Lincoln 10k as a highlight of the year due to the great atmosphere of the event. Andy also maintains an interest in local sporting activity and in particular the fortunes of Lincoln City FC.
Andy has always enjoyed a wide range of music and finds that his taste seems to have broadened over the years.
He had no experience of broadcasting before joining Lincoln City Radio, and it was very much his enjoyment and knowledge of music right across the years that inspired him to get involved.
But if he was forced to come up with a selection of his Desert Island Discs then these would be mainly made up of the rock bands of the 1970s.
